Amrut Joshi and Shwetha Chandrashekar conducted a workshop for the benefit of startups operating at the NUMA Co-Working Space in Bengaluru, titled “Decoding Term Sheets and Best Practices For Your First Funding Round”.

The key issues addressed during this workshop, included:

(a) Providing the attendees with an understanding of the key terms contained in a term sheet;

(b) How to prepare for a term sheet negotiation?;

(c) What are the legal issues involved in valuation of startups?;

(d) How to prepare for a legal due diligence exercise; and

(e) Providing the attendees with an understanding of the typical transaction documentation involved in a seed/angel investment round.
